It’s now official: I will be talking about the new collaboration between designers and developers with WPF in front of the .NET Managed User Group of Switzerland.
Here is the abstract:
With the release of the Windows Presentation Foundation UI framework in November 2006, a new collaboration is made possible between graphics designers and software developers. Designers are now creating source code (XAML) instead of Photoshop mockups. On the other hand, developers must learn to delegate part of their UI prerogatives to the designers. This presentation will underline the new workflows, introduce the new roles, and with the help of live demos, show how a designer, a developer and an integrator can collaborate to create new lines of applications.
The talk and Q&A will last approximately 1.5 hours. If you’re in the Zurich area on the 28th of August, you’re invited, but make sure to register for the event so that we know how many people are attending. I promise you a small number of slides, and a nice demo involving Expression Design, Expression Blend and Visual Studio 2008.
On a side note, the last speaker in front of the group was Microsoft’s Scott Guthrie… Thankfully it’s not a competition, or else I’d lose ;)
