120'000 downloads for MVVM Light: Special action
This is a symbolic milestone: Last week, MVVM Light reached the bar of 120’000 downloads on http://mvvmlight.codeplex.com, the site that has been hosting source and installers since the beginning of the project (100'000 downloads) and on Nuget, the popular package manager for .NET (20'000 downloads). The special action is now over! The winners of the two Expression Studio have been notified. Thank you to everyone who donated to Calcutta Rescue! You made a wonderful gesture.
The whole proceeds of this auction will be sent to one of my favorite humanitarian organizations: Calcutta Rescue. This organization is managing multiple projects in the region of Kolkata (Calcutta), India. It was founded in 1979 by the amazing Dr Jack Preger, and includes the following projects:
- Four Urban Clinics offering primary healthcare as well as specialist medical programmes
- Rural Clinics
- An active Outreach Programme (Mobile Clinics, Street Medicine, Health Education)
- Two Schools educating over 500 children
- A Clean and Safe Drinking Water Programme
- A Vocational Training Programme creating sustainable employment
- A Fair Trade certified Handicrafts Workshop

I have many ties with this organization and I was even president of the Swiss organization (in charge of gathering funds in Switzerland) for few years.
